I am convinced that real love does not exist in 2010
-the kind of love that builds bridges and destroys pride and greed.
most people of my generation live only for themselves.
men and women devour one another in exchange for moments of attention
Chasing, hunting, and killing for dreams that never fulfill our true purpose...
-To live with one another in harmony and love
In 2010 we are lost in pornography, misogyny, text messages, email, status updates and quick phrases
We live like ashes.
We burn bright and fast.
Then we crash into one another, hot and heavy
We revel in a chance meetings of friends we only knew through the computer screen
Living lies as monikers, stage names, alias'.
Posting our flicks from debaucherous nights, from the bathroom, from our little internet dens.
We attract one another
Then we find ourselves in slow, magnificent, old fashioned moments that could pull all the wires away from our ticking hearts, and we fail
-it is time for human touch, for real interaction but we fail
We are only equipped to deal with one another image to image
never heart to heart
never soul to soul
We are the children of technology
we want warmth so badly we made the touch screen.
smart, independent, hard working robots that only plug into each other to quickly recharge
The children of 2010 find no purpose in marrying, or joining ourselves in any type of commitment
These children are too obsessed with money, fame, and 5 minute sex.
The children that are too preoccupied to feel, to give, to be in love.
It is 2010 and love may be extinct
